Where are the ways to prevent environmental destruction?（2）

Currently, nuclear weapons exist in the event of war or conflict escalating. I cannot understand the situation in which nuclear weapons are becoming more powerful and expanding under the guise of deterrence, without learning from the tragic history of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. If a nuclear war were to break out, the world would undoubtedly follow the path of destruction. Why would nuclear-armed countries increase their military power when such a situation is imaginable? I think we must not allow such a situation to prevail. I am worried that if each of us does not lobby our governments and break this situation, we will one day see days of irreversibility. Shouldn’t we do something about it? I believe that we are the only ones who can change our future.

『In modern times, nuclear weapons already exist that are said to be capable of destroying most of the Earth, or that can kill a great deal of life in an instant. In fact, today’s nuclear weapons have destructive power that cannot be compared to the atomic bombs of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Furthermore, once a nuclear war breaks out, retaliation will inevitably lead to the spread of radiation, and all living things, including human beings, will head toward extinction. I believe that many people with common sense need to join their voices and completely rid the world of such shallow acts of destruction, and of the very nuclear weapons that pose such a risk. I want that each of us should lobby our governments and, through the spread of the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons, lead to a decision to eliminate this threat. And I believe that a vision of the world coming together in some way is also necessary for this to happen.』
