How far has the problem progressed now? What are the clues to a solution?(1)

Our standard of living has greatly improved since the Industrial Revolution, but on the other hand, the resulting global warming has been causing major problems in our lives. If the average temperature in the world rises and reaches a critical point, it will lead to the disastrous future I have mentioned above, and I think that each of us must immediately change our behavior and protect our future lives.

As for global warming, I think most people are beginning to feel its effects these days. I also can’t help but think that there is a great deal of anxiety about the future of our lives. At least at the beginning of the Industrial Revolution, I imagine that such anxiety was not felt. That is why our actions from now on are important.

In fact, we are approaching a critical point, which is said to be the start of an irreversible reaction called a tipping point. This is intertwined with the problems mentioned above, but in order to avoid this, we will have to work on each of them at important intervention points (leverage points). In particular, action on global warming is long overdue, and to advance it, we must fundamentally rethink various human activities, and social change is needed to promote behavioral change. We do not want our planet to become a changed planet by any means. In improving our living infrastructure, I think that the first priority must be to improve the essential environmental infrastructure.
