Why couldn’t these rapid changes be stopped?(2)
From another perspective, I think that the belief that technology can solve everything has led to the result that many problems have not been seriously addressed even after they have become apparent. However, if we look at reality, problems such as global warming are pushing the living things that have supported us into a difficult situation, and there is no doubt that the Earth will not be able to support living things, including humans, if things continue as they are. What we can do now, it seems to me, is to change our attitude and fulfill our responsibility as human beings so that we can support living organisms. To that end, I think that the world needs to come together as one and work together to aim for the survival of the Earth and living things, including human beings.
『From another perspective, we were unable to stop this trend because we were undoubtedly and optimistic thinking that convenience would become the norm and that we would be able to live even more convenient and comfortable lives. In fact, It seems to me that we have hardly even looked back on such things. Even though the warning bells against this mistake are starting to be heard little by little and steadily these days, I think that we have turned a deaf ear to such voices and are optimistic that the problems can somehow be solved by prioritizing the economy based on technological capabilities. However, if we look closely at the daily lives of creatures on Earth, we can see that too many creatures are becoming extinct, the balance of the ecosystem is starting to collapse, and the state of the Earth is becoming distorted. Isn’t it time to look directly at this point, sharpen our ears, and fundamentally revise the way humans have lived and thought up to now by going back to the basics? I would like to repeat that it is urgent that each of us ask ourselves the most basic question of why humans can continue to live, and work to improve the way we live.』
